Grocery stores to be open b/w 6 am – 3pm on Tue: Kota Poojary

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Sunday said that the bandh in the city will be extended for one more day i.e on March 30.
“For last two days, people of Mangaluru have supported bandh decision taken by the district administration in view of coronavirus. A total bandh will be observed in the district on Monday too,” said Poojary at a meeting held here.
He further informed that grocery stores will remain open, for a day, on Tuesday from 6am to 3pm while urging people to maintain social distancing while visiting shops for their purchases.
“Avoid crowding at shops. One person from each family can go for purchases,” he said.
“Shopkeepers must not sell items beyond prescribed rates. If any such case comes to our notice strict action will be initiated against them,” Poojary warned.
Food will be provided to migrant labourers and the destitute in category A temples under the Muzrai department as also at Indira Canteens, he added.
