Groom arrested from wedding hall

Mulki: In a shocking incident, a groom was arrested at his wedding here on Monday.

It has been reported that, the groom from Surathkal near here was about to get married when the police barged into the wedding hall and arrested him just before tying the knot.

The groom was allegedly married to a woman from Padubidri and had lied to her of being abroad.

The wife had lodged a complaint with the women police of Udupi.

As per his wife’s claims, since she knew the man’s intention she tried to contact the bride’s family but it was of no help. After which she complained to the police.

The groom’s family agreed to pay back for the expense incurred by the bride’s family.
