Gudageri police station of Dharwad enters top 10 league

Dharwad: Gudageri police station of Dharwad district has been identified as the fifth best police station in the country among the top 10 best police stations identified.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, December 22 released the list of top 10 best police station in the country on the occasion of the inaugural session of the DG and IGPs conference held in Gujarat. The Home ministry’s twitter handle had also posted out the rankings.
This year Kalu police station of Rajasthan has been ranked top, which is followed by Campbell Bay in Andaman and Nicobar islands, Farakka in West Bengal and Nettapakkam in Puducherry.
The other police stations include Chopal in Himachal Pradesh, Lakheri in Rajasthan, Periyakulam in Tamil Nadu, Munsyari in Uttarakhand and Churchorem of Goa.
The assessment was made by a team of the Union Home Ministry, informed sources.
It is gathered that the assessment team had visited the station on September 23 and checked for various parameters like infrastructure, detection of registered crime cases and friendly relations with the public.
In recent times, the police station here solved many complex cases within a few days and this is once again the feather to the crown of the station.
It may be recalled that a case of a girl missing from a village was registered in October and the case was solved within a few days with the help of social media. A photo of the missing girl was share in the social media sites and the girl was traced to Andhra Pradesh.
In the recent murder case of the Gram panchayat president at Chabbi, the four criminals were caught in just six days and this case once again became successful using the social media sites and the criminals were nabbed in Mumbai.
