Following the amendment in Section 142 of the Code of Social Security 2020, it has become mandatory for Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) subscribers to link their Aadhaar number with their UAN (universal account number) to avail various benefits of retirement fund.
In case of EPF account whose UAN is not Aadhaar verified, the EPFO has clearly stated that the employer’s contribution won’t get credited in such accounts from this month.
“Section 142 of Code on social security, 2020 has been notified with effect from May 03, 2021. EPFO has amended ECT filing protocol and from 1.06.2021, it can be filed only with respect to Aadhaar seeded UAN’s,” the EPFO tweeted.
Here’s how you can link your Aadhaar Card with your PF account online
1. The facility has been made available at EPFO’s website www.epfindia.gov.in >> Online Services >> e-KYC Portal>> LINK UAN AADHAAR.
2. Enter you UAN number and the registered mobile number;
3. OTP will come at the registered mobile number;
4. Enter OTP and your 12-digit Aadhaar number;
5. Click at the ‘Submit’ button;
6. Click at ‘OTP Verification’ option;
7. Create OTP on your registered mobile number of mail linked to your Aadhaar number for verification of your Aadhaar details.
EPFO will communicate to your employers for authentication of your Aadhaar-EPF linking. Once the recruiter authenticates your Aadhaar seeding with EPF account, your EPF account will get linked to your Aadhaar number.
