In a bid to ease travel, the Co-WIN portal is now allowing users to update passport numbers in Covid vaccination certificates.

Sharing screenshots of the new feature, Aarogya Setu app’s official handle Thursday tweeted “Now you can update your Passport number in your vaccination certificate.”

In case of any mismatch in name, the app also allows for a one-time name change to ensure that the name on the vaccine certificate and the passport is same.

Recently, the centre had announced new guidelines for Covid-19 vaccination, stating that those travelling abroad for education, jobs, or as part of the Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympic games, will have to get their vaccination certificates linked to their passport.

Guide to link your passport number to your vaccine certificate:

Step 1: Visit the official portal of CoWin — cowin.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the “Raise an Issue” option located on the right-hand side, next to your registered mobile number.

Step 3: Now select the “Add Passport Details” option and select the person from the drop down menu.

Step 4: Enter your passport number and submit the details.

In the event that the name on the vaccine certificate does not match that on the passport, follow the below steps

Step 1: Visit the official portal of CoWin — cowin.gov.in.

Step 2: Sign in using your registered mobile number.

Step 3: Now, select on the ‘Raise an issue’ option at the top and select the member’s name. Click on the ‘Correction in certificate’ option.

Step 4: Select the options you need to make corrections into. Now enter the correct details and click on continue to submit the details.
