Guidelines on preparation, distribution of temple prasada soon: Minister

Bengaluru: Following repeated untoward incidents related to consumption of prasada being reported in the state Muzrai Minister P T Parmeshwar Naik said on Sunday, January the government has decided to issue guidelines on preparation and distribution of prasada at religious places.
Measures would be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur, Naik said.
He also referred to the recent incident of food poisoning after prasada was served at a temple in Chikkaballapur district, which claimed two lives and left several others critically ill.
Temples had been categorised into A, B and C groups, based on their income. The government was contemplating towards utilising the income for the development of temples in group C, he informed.
