Gulbarga: Boy dies after slipping and falling into stone mine

Chitapur: A boy fell to his death while visiting a stone mine along with his father in the Basavanagudi area within Wadi town council limits of the taluk here on Friday.
Mangesh Mithun Jadhav (8), a resident of Basavanagudi locality, was the deceased boy.
Mithun had gone to the stone mine with his father who works there as a labourer.
The mine was filled with a large amount of water due to incessant rains causing some electric cables of a cutting machine to be submerged. Mithun’s father went to retrieve the cables.
Mithun who was sitting on a pile of waste slipped and fell into the water and drowned.
He did not survive even though he was rescued soon.
Wadi police station PSI Vijayakumar Bhavagi and other police officials visited the site.
A post-mortem was conducted at the Wadi community health centre.
A case of accidental death has been registered at the Wadi police station.
