Gundlupet: Man arrested for alleged possession of ganja, deer meat, country made pistol

Gundlupet: In a joint operation carried out by the CEN and forest department sleuths, based on confirmed information of illegal activities at a house, accused Shivanagashetty (34) has been arrested from Annurukeri village.
He also allegedly possessed 5 kg of ganja, deer meat, a country-made pistol used for hunting, nails of wild animals which included 5 bears, and 21 wild cats, 30 bullets, 300 gms of sulphur powder, white salt, and two bundles of wire. The items were later seized.
The raid was conducted under the leadership of Chamarajanagar Cyber Crime Inspector Anand Kumar jointly with the Gundlupet buffer zone forest officials.
The accused has accepted that he used to hunt down deer twice a week in the Halepura village and used to sell the meat.
Meanwhile, the other two accused, namely Bellashetty and Kariashetty have managed to escape. The police have begun search operations.
However, Shivanagashetty has been remanded to judicial custody.
