Guv appoints Prof P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya as VC of Mangaluru University

Mangaluru: Professor Yadapadithaya was appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor for Mangalore University by Governor Vajubhai Vala.
On Monday, March 11 morning the governor’s office issued a notification on the appointment of Vice-Chancellor for Mangalore University and took first of its kind step in the appointment. Prof Yadapadithaya is the registrar of the university and professor in the Department of Commerce.
As per the act, before appointing any of the Vice-Chancellors the Governor should consult with the state government first then only decide the candidates for the post, but before appointing Yadapadithaya Governor did not consult with the state government, informed sources.
It may be recalled that on December 5 the search committee appointed for finalizing three names to the post of vice chancellor of Mangalore University had submitted a sealed cover containing three names it has finalized for the said post to the government.
