Bengaluru: Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala appointed retired judge of high court Justice B S Patil as the new deputy Lokayukta of the state.
BS Patil will be sworn in today at 5 pm at Raj Bhavan. Eminent personalities, including Yediyurappa, will be taking part in this event.
Justice Patil began his journey as an advocate on September 5, 1980 and practised in the trial courts and high court. He served as a judge in the high court for a long period of 14 years.
It may be recalled that the single judge bench led by Justice B S Patil had ordered a stay on the inquiry of present CM B S Yediyurappa on the private complaint filed by Sirajin Pasha and Balaraj on the Arkavati Layout de-notification case.
