A hacker group, NetWalker, claims to have attacked the University of California, which has been conducting research and trials for Covid-19 treatment
NetWalker posted screenshots of the stolen files on the dark web blog that mentioned medical studies, employee information, among others.
Researchers at the university are among those leading American antibody testing and clinical trials for possible covid-19 treatments.
UCSF has confirmed it was the target of an illegal intrusion and has alerted security experts and law enforcement of the attack
The blog has a timer, that threatens to reveal data by June 8 if payment is not made.
