Haleyangady: Thieves steal assets worth Rs 6 lakhs from Sri Durgaparameshwari Vinayaka Matha

Haleyangady: Thieves stole silver jewellery and the donation box from the Sri Durgaparameshwari Vinayaka Matha here.

The thieves broke into the Matha from the back door and carried away two silver crowns and face masks on the Sri Vinayaka and Sri Devi deities.

The total weight of the ornaments is estimated to be 7 kilograms.

The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Monday while it was heavily raining.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the priest arrived at the temple.

The police officials from Mulki police station visited the scene and inspected it.
