Hanur: Police find sandalwood along with marijuana during raid

Hanur: A police team that raided a house after receiving a tip-off for marijuana also found illegally stocked sandalwood in the same place.

The incident was reported from Jallipalya village at Hanur taluk in Chamarajanagar district.

The police team led by DySP Manoj Kumar and Sub Inspector raided the house of Chinnappa Goundar (55) after learning of illegally stored marijuana.

While seizing the marijuana from his house the team also found pieces of illegally collected sandalwood.

A total of 550 grams marijuana and 55 kilograms of sandalwood pieces were found from Goundar’s possession.

A case has been registered and Goundar has been presented in court.

The police team included SI Manjunath Prasad, ASI Siddappa, Head Constables Nanjunda, Shivamurthy, Shivraju Nagendra and Constables Anna Dorai, Bommegowda, Raghu, Prakash and others.
