Hanur: Two men arrested for stockpiling marijuana for sale

Hanur: Two people were arrested in two separate incidents by police in the taluk here for possessing marijuana worth more than Rs 2 lakhs.

Veerappan (74) and Sheshuraj (52) are the arrested culprits. The two had illegally stored marijuana in their home for sale.

DySP Nagaraju and SI Manoj Kumar and a team raided both their houses after receiving a tip-off.

The police team seized 1.29 kilograms of marijuana from Veerappan’s house and 1.4 kilograms from Sheshuraj’s house.

The combined worth of the seized marijuana was Rs 2.16 lakhs.

Two separate cases have been registered at the Ramapura police station.

The police team included SI Siddappa, Raghu, Nanjunda, Annadurai, Nagendra, Prakash, Kiran, Shivamurthy, Shivraju and Shakivulla.
