Holenarasipura: Two people died and one was seriously injured after explosives for stone quarrying accidentally detonated.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at Chakenahallikatte village in the district here.
The deceased Sampath and Nataraj, workers at licensed explosives dealer CH Nagesh, were unloading electronic detonator boxes from a vehicle at about 3:50 pm when the explosion occurred.
While Sampath died on the spot, Nataraj died en route to the hospital.
The force of the explosion was so strong that Sampath’s dead body was found 300 metres away from the explosion site.
