Hassan: The youth who had abducted a woman in Hassan for refusing to marry him has been nabbed. The woman has also been rescued and returned home.

The victim, Arpita, who works as a private school teacher, was abducted by the accused Ramu and his accomplices in a car near Bittagoudanahalli on the outskirts of the city on Thursday morning when she was on her way to work.

Ramu, who is a close relative of Arpita, had asked for her hand in marriage. However, Arpita and her family turned down the proposal.

Police traced the accused based on mobile network data. They pursued them towards Somwarpet. En route, another car joined the kidnappers. Later, the abductors headed towards Nelamangala.

Ramu’s accomplices developed cold feet and ditched him and Arpita in the Innova car and fled from the spot. Ramu who did not know how to drive was found helpless in the car by the police.
