In a shocking incident, a police constable stabbed his wife to death at the premises of the District Superintendent of Police (SP) office in Hassan.

The victim, Mamatha, was allegedly killed by her husband, Lokanath, who is a constable at the Hassan City Police Station. The incident occurred when Mamatha arrived at the SP office to file a complaint against her husband due to ongoing domestic disputes.

Witnesses reported that Lokanath, in a fit of rage, attacked Mamatha with a knife. Despite immediate efforts by police officers on the scene to rush her to HIMS Hospital, Mamatha succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities have taken Lokanath into custody. The couple had reportedly been experiencing marital discord for the past several days, which led Mamatha to seek intervention from the SP office.
