Hassan: Four persons killed in head on collision between car and tipper lorry

Hassan: Four persons were tragically killed in a head-on collision between a tipper and an Innova car on NH 75 on Friday.

The accident took place at Iswarahalli Kudige near Palya on Bangalore-Mangalore National Highway 75.

A tipper belonging to the national highway work contractor collided with an Innova car heading towards Sakleshpur, killing four youths in the car on the spot.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Chetan from Kuppali village of Hassan taluk, Ashok from Guddenahalli village, Tattekere Purushottama, and Dinesh from Chigaluru village of Aloor taluk.

According to locals, this particular accident was reportedly caused by the negligence of the contractors and the concerned authorities who failed to install any signboards at the work site. The work on National Highway 75 has been progressing slowly, and for the past seven or eight years, hundreds of innocent passengers have lost their lives, they alleged.
