Arsikere: A stone bearing ancient inscriptions was discovered during renovation works at the Government Engineering College on the outskirts of the town here.
The stone was discovered when earth moving equipment was digging in the under progress construction work at the college.
Officials from the Department of Archaeology and Museums visited the site and inspected the stone. According to them, the stone has Jain inscriptions.
Another team of experts are on their way to the site for further inspection.
