Hassan: Techie ends life over alleged harassment by wife

A 35-year-old native of Hassan died by suicide over alleged harassment by his wife and her family members in Hassan.
The victim identified as Pramod, a resident of Indiranagar was working as a software engineer with Benz in Bengaluru.
On December 29, Pramod left his mobile at home and left on his bike, The bike was later found abandoned near Hemavathi backwaters. It is reported that Pramod jumped off a bridge into the Hemavathi river. His body was found on Wednesday morning.
Pramod’s parents and relatives alleged that his son committed suicide due to harassment by his wife, Nandini and her family.
Pramod and Nandini got married seven years ago and the couple have a child. Pramod is said to have been upset with the recent harassment by his wife.
Pramod’s relatives were angry with Nandini when she came with her mother and child to see her husband’s body in the mortuary. An argument broke out between the two families. Nandini and her mother were later sent back by the police in an autorickshaw.
