Hassan: In a shocking incident a jilter lover kidnapped a woman allegedly after she rejected his marriage proposal.

The victim, Arpita who works as a private school teacher was abducted in a car near Bittagoudanahalli on the outskirts of the city on Thursday morning when she was on her way to work.

The accused has been identified as Ramu, a close relative of Arpita. Recently Ramu accompanied by his parents had gone to Arpita’s house to ask for her hand in marriage. However, Arpita and her family turned down the proposal.

This infuriated Ramu and he kidnapped Arpita with the help of a few other unidentified men. CCTV footage of the act shows the men pushing Arpita into an Innova car and escaping from the spot.

Police rushed to the spot and began an investigation. It is suspected that Arpita might have been taken to Madikeri. Three teams have been formed to nab the kidnappers.
