Hassan: A man, who had gone to collect the debt owed, was allegedly beaten to death by two women in Holenarsipura taluk here.
A complaint in this regard has been filed at the Shantigrama police station.
Nanjegowda from Pasaranahalli had reportedly given a loan of Rs 1.43 lakhs to Shivashankar of Bandihalli village for constructing a house.
On Thursday, Nanjegowda had been to Shivashankar’s house to collect the money owed. Shivashankar’s wife Renuka and his mother Bhagyamma were home at the time, the complaint says.
The women invited him inside the house with the promise to pay the money and forced him to drink alcohol. Once he was drunk, the duo allegedly hit him with a cane.
When Nanjegowda did not return home, his son Gangadhar and another named Kallenahalli Sunil went to search for him and found him semi-conscious and profusely bleeding near Shivshakar’s house.
According to the complaint, before he bled to death, Nanjegowda narrated the entire incident to his son.
