Hassan: Hassanamba temple door has been opened for its devotees on Thursday. The temple door is opened only for a few days in the month of Ashwayuja in a year and it is considered special to obtain a darshan during the Deepavali festival.
Though the temple door open today the devotees will be allowed to take darshan of the deity only on Friday, November 2 and the temple will be open round the clock. Only dignitaries like Chief Minister, Union ministers, sitting and former legislators, Zilla and taluk panchayat members and elected representatives of local bodies will be issued passes. Journalists with passes can enter the Rajagopura but are not allowed to take any pictures. Special passes priced at ₹300 and ₹1,000 have been introduced for those who want to have darshan in a short time.
The Hassan City Municipal Council has taken full charge of keeping the city clean and have also installed colourful lighting and floral decoration along the roads leading to the temple.
The government has deployed a Dy.SP, two circle inspectors, seven PSIs, 20 ASIs, 100 head constables/constables. Also, 25 women police constables would be on duty in each shift.
