New Delhi/Bengaluru: In response to the furore created by his remark that he was at the mercy of the Congress, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy told reporters that he had become the CM because of the Congress. “They supported my party. I have to work according to their direction. That is my responsibility,” he said.
Kumaraswamy said that he was at the mercy of the Congress and not the 6.5 crore people of Karnataka because his government had not received the full mandate. He pointed that the Congress had greater numbers which made its voice stronger in the coalition government. He also added that he had become the Chief Minister because of them.
Kumaraswamy is in New Delhi to met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers. The meeting is aimed at requesting financial assistance for the farm loan waiver promised by his government.
