Haveri: A fire broke out at a warehouse storing firecrackers. Fire rescue pulled out 3 badly burnt bodies from the wreckage.

The blaze was noticed at the warehouse of Bhoomika Traders situated at Aladakatte Village in Haveri.

A bike and a Tata Ace vehicle, along with other goods were destroyed in the blaze.

It was initially reported that none were at the firecracker warehouse. However, later it was discovered that 4 persons were at the premises when the fire broke out. After dousing the flames, rescue workers found 3 bodies at the site.

The deceased are suspected to be daily wage labourers — Dyamappa Olekar, Ramesh Barki, and Shivalinga Akki.

It is gathered that a huge consignment of firecrackers was brought in preparation for the Ganesh festival and the labourers were hired to unload the same.
