HC allows board exams for 5th, 8th, 9th, and 11th classes

The Karnataka High Court has granted permission to conduct board examinations for students in the 5th, 8th, 9th, and 11th grades. The bench has directed the resumption of the halted examination process.

This decision comes in the wake of a previous ruling by a single-member bench of the High Court, which had invalidated a circular issued by the state government regarding the conduction of state-level board exams for students following the state curriculum in classes 5, 8, 9, and 11. However, today’s judgment overturns this ruling.

Initially, the single-member bench had nullified the school board examinations. However, the Supreme Court intervened by staying the order of the division bench and directed to continue the appeal hearing process.

With this latest development, the board examinations for the aforementioned classes are set to proceed as scheduled, following the High Court’s reversal of its earlier decision.
