HC tells Centre to deport Pakistani couple within two weeks

Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court has granted two more weeks to the Central Government to deport a Pakistani couple, who are overstaying in India.
On Wednesday, May 8 the High Court said tha it would give two more weeks to the Central Government to deport a Pakistani couple who had come to Bengaluru for their marriage had overstayed and hence they were booked and arrested for visa violations.
Meanwhile, the Centre informed that the Union Home Ministry has no objection in deporting the petitioners, as there are no cases pending against them.
The court has said that on the issuance of a clearance from the Home Department, state government and Foreigners Regional Registration Office issuing an exit pass, the police shall immediately ensure to escort the petitioners herein to Attari/Wagah border for handing over them to the Pakistani Rangers. The HC had orally observed saying that instead of wasting Indian tax money for taking care of the couple in the jail, it was better to send them back to their country.
Earlier the court had asked the Centre to deport them by May 5, following which the Centre had sought two more weeks for the due process to deport the Pakistani couple.
