HC to hear Lingayat religion minority plea on June 19

Bengaluru: High Court and the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs have received a letter requesting to reconsider the minority religion status to the Lingayat community.

Additional solicitor general Prabhuling K Navadgi informed that the ministry handed over the request to the ministry of home affairs.

Navadig said that the matter has been examined by the ministry of home affairs and further proceedings would take time.

High Court will hear the plea on June 19.
