Bengaluru: Hitting back at Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy for his statement that Mallikarjun Kharge should have become Chief Minister long back, former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday tweeted that HD Ravanna was eligible to be Chief Minister as Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge was appropriate for higher political posts.
“HD Kumaraswamy is right. Mallikarjun Kharge can not only be CM but is eligible for a higher level of posts. There are a lot of people in Congress and JD(S). Among them, HD Revanna is also one,” he tweeted.

Siddaramaiah (@siddaramaiah) May 16, 2019
Earlier, on Tuesday, Kumaraswamy said that senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was not given enough recognition for his work by his party. Kumaraswamy said that Kharge should have been made a Chief Minister long back.
“Mallikarjun Kharge should have become the Chief Minister long ago. I feel that injustice has happened to him. I would like to clearly state that even I feel that Kharge has not been given recognition for all the work he has done,” the Chief Minister said while addressing a public rally in Chincholi.
