Union Minister Kumaraswamy has made serious allegations of widespread corruption in the ongoing MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) scandal, questioning the necessity of the investigation if no wrongdoing occurred. He raised several concerns during a press conference at the JD(S) office on Saturday.

“Why is an investigation being conducted if there is no MUDA scandal? Minister Byrathi Suresh arrived by helicopter to collect records, indicating a colossal level of corruption,” Kumaraswamy stated.

He also questioned the status of the Kempanna Commission report, which was appointed to investigate allegations against Siddaramaiah. “What happened to the Kempanna Commission report? There is stronger evidence in this case than in the redo case. The Chief Minister claims innocence, saying MUDA owes them Rs 62 crore. I was aware of this scandal last year,” Kumaraswamy added.

In response to remarks about his mental health, Kumaraswamy retorted, “Someone called me insane. I don’t need to go to a hospital for treatment. I have already received cardiac treatment and am in good health,” targeting D.K. Shivakumar.

Kumaraswamy also addressed comments made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who suggested that inquiries about the MUDA scandal be directed to G.T. Devegowda. “MUDA records are being transported openly on the streets. The Chief Minister is treating this case lightly. He claims his land was converted into plots without his knowledge. Who are the heirs of this land? In whose name is it registered? It belongs to someone named Ling alias Jawar. All the records are in place. I know the history from 2004 and 2005. The Chief Minister says it is land given by his brother-in-law to his wife. Did he declare this property during the 2013 elections?” Kumaraswamy questioned.
