Bengaluru: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has decided not to organize any political programme in Bengaluru till the JD(S)’ “Pancharatna Yatra” comes to an end.

As per the reports, the Yatra which began in Kolar district has reached Pavagada and Shira of Tumakuru district through Chikkaballapura district and Bengaluru Rural.

The Yatra will also be covering ‘Kalyana’ Karnataka and Uttara Karnataka. Hence, till it is not completed no political events or programmes will be organized in Bengaluru.

The decision has come after the BJP and Congress tried to have a stronghold in the Old Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural, respectively. Therefore, HDK has begun his political campaign well in advance to garner support from the people of Old Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural, which are also said to be constituencies that favour JD(S).

It is also learned that the party which has aimed at covering over 150 constituencies through Yatra, will conduct meetings in Bengaluru only if found important.

The party has given a call to all its workers and leaders to take time for their families only on the weekends and dedicate the rest of the time to building the party stronger, before the 2023 Karnataka Assembly election.

As per the party sources, around 30 percent of candidates are already being selected and in the month of March and April 2023, HDK is expected to strategize from Bengaluru.
