New Delhi/Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on met former minister DK Shivakumar who is currently in the judicial custody in a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Addressing presspersons after meeting Shivakumar, Kumaraswamy said, “Shivakumar is mentally strong to face any situation and I’m sure he will come out clean soon.”
“I have been trying to meet Shivakumar from past few days but could not meet his due to certain reasons,” he added.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi who was supposed to meet DK Shivakumar had cancelled the plan due to health issues.
The ED had in September last year registered the money laundering case against Shivakumar and a few others. The case was based on a charge sheet filed by the Income Tax (I-T) Department on charges of alleged tax evasion and unaccounted transactions worth crores.
