Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who was busy with election campaigning over the last month is expected to resume his official duties from tomorrow(Friday).
The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka was held on April 23.
Kumaraswamy, on Wednesday, paid tribute to two JD(S) workers who were killed in the Sri Lanka suicide bomb blasts and later met the family and offered condolences.
After taking a break on Thursday, the chief minister will be chairing meetings of key departments including Revenue department on Friday, said an official source.
Meanwhile, though elections for the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state are over, the model code of conduct (MCC) will continue to remain in force till the announcement of the results on May 23. During this period sanctioning of new projects by the state government would require prior consent from the Election Commission.
“EC has already permitted the state to float new tenders for projects in the state,” said K G Jagadeesh, additional chief electoral officer, adding that any new initiative that might violate MCC will require EC’s permission.
