Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao dismissed claims of an agreement to change the Chief Minister every two-and-a-half years, stating that no such arrangement exists.
Speaking to reporters about the speculated change in leadership, Gundu Rao emphasized that such matters should not be discussed publicly. “Publicly discussing the issue won’t lead to any action. It’s not a topic for public debate. Siddaramaiah is our Chief Minister and a good administrator. There’s no question of change when a CM is already in place. Why should we change?” he questioned.
Gundu Rao further clarified that there is no current discussion about changing the Chief Minister. “The issue of CM change is irrelevant now. Others may say whatever they want, but those are their personal opinions. What I am saying reflects the stance of the Congress party,” he said. He noted that the comments by the Vokkaliga seer were personal opinions.
Addressing the demand for an additional Deputy Chief Minister, Gundu Rao stated that there is no factional politics within the Congress. “Some have expressed their opinions. Rajanna is a supporter of Siddaramaiah, and that’s why he spoke. We can’t do anything about it. ” he remarked.
