Mangaluru: The city received much needed respite from the humid weather after heavy rains lashed parts of Mangalore on Thursday; however the heavy downpour left commuters stranded. With roads and low lying localities getting inundated due to water-logging, people were pushed into undue trouble.

The knee deep water on the roads made is a real challenge to two-wheeler riders with a few judging it safer to wade the water by pushing with their legs instead of riding the bike. Major areas of the city and several stretches were clogged with traffic jams.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the city till July 22 with minimum and the maximum temperature hovering around 24 degree Celsius to 28 degree Celsius.
