Bantwal: Rains with gusty winds in taluk have resulted in the uprooting of a tree near the Horticulture Department office at Bantwal-Kaikunje Road on Friday noon.

The fallen tree has crushed an autorickshaw and Maruti 800 car.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, even though the road is busy throughout the day.

Meanwhile, the reports suggest that a police patrolling vehicle had passed by from the incident spot without even stopping by and assessing the situation. This is said to have irked the public.
