Heavy rain in Dakshina Kannada; Damage reported in some areas

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, causing significant damage in some areas. In Bantwal taluk’s Maninalkur village, strong winds blew off the roof sheets of shops and houses.
A tree fell on a moving car on the Kodaje-Anantadi road, damaging the vehicle. Muddy roads caused long traffic delays on the national highway in Kashibettu.
Heavy rain lashed Mangalore city from morning till noon, with a slight reduction in intensity afterward.
Orange Alert for Three Days
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an “Orange Alert” for the coastal region from July 7 to 9, predicting heavy rain and strong winds.
District Magistrate’s Order
To prevent accidents during the monsoon season, District Magistrate Mullai Muhilan has ordered a ban on entering water bodies, including waterfalls, rivers, and reservoirs, until further notice.
