Heavy rain uproot trees, vehicles damaged

Bengaluru: Rain with strong winds which continued to lash the city left many roads flooded on Sunday. As many as three tree-falls were reported in the city.
Parts of east Bengaluru were flooded, at least 12 vehicles were damaged after a massive tree fell at Margosa Road near Malleswaram 8th Cross. BBMP officials said that a tree fell on a parked car and an autorickshaw.
The autorickshaw driver had a narrow escape in the incident, while at least 10 motorcycles were trapped under the fallen canopy.
Uprooting of trees was also reported at Indiranagar’s CMH Road, Kanteerava Nagar and Nandini Layout where cars were damaged, while a tree fall near Prasanna theatre at Magadi Road damaged and damaged an autorickshaw.
The Indian Meteorological Department said the city received 16.30 mm rain from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Sunday.
