Chitradurga: The heavy rainfall has left the  Chitradurga- Shivamogga national highway in Holalkere taluk submerged, disrupting vehicular traffic.

Normal life has been hit as a result of the rains that lashed on Thursday. The vehicular traffic on the highway has been affected after about a 1 km stretch in the taluk.

The water bodies in the area are overflowing. Agricultural fields in Shivaganga, Halehalli, and Gilikenahalli are also inundated, damaging crops. Farmers have appealed to the government for relief in view of the financial loss due to the rains.
