Heavy rains: Holiday declared in Udupi for July 19

Udupi: Due to continuous heavy rainfall across the district, a holiday has been declared for schools and colleges up to the pre-university level on Friday, July 19.

A red alert was issued in Udupi district on Thursday. The district has been experiencing relentless heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been declared for Anganwadi centers, primary schools, high schools, and pre-university colleges.

A red alert remains in effect for Friday as well. The Punarvasu star has brought significant rainfall, and with the Pushya star set to begin tomorrow, the rain is expected to continue.
