Heavy rains in Belagavi claims one life

Belagavi: The pre-monsoon rain, which proceeded with unabated on Saturday, June 2 in areas in and around the city of Belagavi made further anarchy. One youth was washed away because of the force of lake water close NH 4.
Imran Nadaf (25), an occupant of Kotabagi town of Hukkeri taluk is the youth who was washed away.
Imran Nadaf and his brother Ameer were going to Bhootharamana Hatti from the city on the night of Saturday, June 2. After a short time the rain began pouring and the two took shield beneath a tree in the low lying region beside the highway. During this, water on high force began to spill out of Vantamuri ghat territory and Imran Nadaf got washed away along with the bike. In spite of the fact that Ameer tried to protect his brother Nadaf, he couldn’t do as such as the force of water stream was more. Ameer saved himself from the force of water by sitting on a tree. After some time, however the bike was found at a distance of around 500 meters, there was no sign of Imran. Police from Kakati police station and fire service staff have gone by the spot and are in search for Imran’s body.
