Heavy rains in Mangaluru uproot huge trees

Hampankatta: Two houses sustained damage after a huge tree fell on them due to the strong wind and heavy rain on the dawn of Sunday. The incident took place at Aithappa Shetty Compound (Akkamakka hotel) near Hampankatte. Fortunately no lives were lost.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath visited the spot and immediately directed the fire service and the officials of MCC and forest department to indulge in the relief activity. Vasanth J Poojary, corporator Poornima and Muralidhar accompanied the MLA.
