Heavy rains lash Chandigarh and surrounding areas

Chandigarh: Heavy rains lashed Chandigarh and its surrounding areas today, after which the mercury dropped by a few notches.

A sharp spell of rain brought down the mercury providing relief to the people from sultry weather conditions. Chandigarh’s adjoining towns of Mohali in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana were also lashed by heavy showers.

According to the meteorological department officials, more rain has been forecast at many places in the two states till tomorrow.
