Hebri: Lecturer commits suicide by hanging

Hebri: A lecturer at a private college, who was living in a rented house near Badagudde here, committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan in his room on Friday morning.

The deceased lecturer, identified as Venkatesh, is a native of Rona. He and another lecturer fell in love and had married 5 years ago. The family of Venkatesh’s wife did not know of their marriage.

On Friday, Venkatesh and his wife left for work. Later, he left for home from his college telling his wife that he will return soon.

Venkatesh’s wife later received messages on her phone from Venkatesh asking her to come home soon. As she was attending a class she saw the messages late and rushed home after reading it. On reaching home she saw Venkatesh’s hanging.

Hebri police station officials visited the house and retrieved a death note. The exact reason for the suicide is still not known. The police have started an investigation.
