The dead body of a man who drowned while crossing the river two days ago was found on July 20 by Ishwar Malpe’s team in Cheroli village, Nadpalu, under the Hebri police station limits.
The deceased, Anand, had come to Nadpalu for work at a plantation. He attempted to cross the river using a rope but was swept away by the floodwaters. The Karkala fire brigade had been conducting extensive searches in the river for the past two days but had not found the body.
Eventually, diving expert Ishwar Malpe’s team conducted a search spanning approximately 4 kilometers of the river and successfully located Anand’s body.
Hebri Tahsildar Prasad S. A., police station personnel, fire brigade staff, and local villagers assisted in the operation.
