High Court Grants Interim Bail to HDK in Janthakal Mining Scam Case

Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court has granted interim bail with some restrictions to former Karnataka Chief Minister, state JDS president HD Kumaraswamy (HDK) on Thursday inconnection with his alleged role in Janthakal Mining Scam.

The court has asked the former chief minister not to destroy any evidence which may turn against him in the case. The single member bench has also asked him to give a surety bond of Rs 5 lakh and to appear before Special Investigation Team (SIT) once in two weeks. A case has been registered against HDK after he allegedly violated law to issue permit to Janthakal Company for mining in the state.
