New Delhi: Amid the tensions of the Savarkar flex row in Karnataka, historian Vikram Sampath has expressed his opinion about the controversy and has termed it ‘unfortunate’.
In an interview with the India Today news channel, Vikram said, “It is very unfortunate that a person who was at the forefront of the freedom struggle, ‘Veer Savarkar’, is being dragged into petty street politics”.
He also said that it was extremely unfortunate that violence erupted over the poster of Veer Savarkar at a time when India was celebrating 75 years of freedom.
