HIV+ says man to escape marriage, lands behind bars

Bengaluru: Vijaynagar police arrested a bridegroom after he allegedly lied that he was an HIV Positive patient to get rid of his wedding, which was scheduled to be held on December 1.
The arrested has been identified as Kiran Kumar, a resident of Bengaluru.
It is gathered that Kiran was supposed to get married on December 1, but four days before the wedding Kiran informed the family of bride that he was an HIV Patient and that he did not want to marry the woman who was chosen by his family.
Angered by Kiran’s decision the family of the bride filed a complaint against his alleging that they had spent nearly 15 lakh rupees for the preparations of the wedding.
Following the complaint, the Vijatanag police took Kiran fir medical checkup. However, the report was negative and hence proved that Kiran was lying.
The police then arrested Kiran for cheating the family of the bride and further investigations are underway.
