Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada DC Sasikanth Senthil, has announced that there will be holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Friday, August 9.
In the wake of severe winds and heavy downpour, the DC had also declared holidays for schools and colleges in the district on Wednesday and Thursday.
Although the DC had earlier mentioned that there would not be any holiday on Friday in the backdrop of rumours that he had declared a holiday, he later announced that there would be holiday indeed after considering the latest developments in the weather.

Udupi: A holiday has been announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district Hepsiba Rani Korlapati for all schools and colleges in the district of Friday August 9.
The holiday was announced In the backdrop of heavy rains experienced in the district since the past few days. Meanwhile, the continuous downpour is expected to persist for the next 48 hours as well.
The DC had earlier declared holiday for educational institution on Wednesday and Thursday also.
