Renowned actor Christian Oliver, recognized for his roles in movies like Speed Racer, and his two daughters met a tragic end along with his two daughters in a plane crash on January 4.

According to Associated Press, the incident occurred near Petit Nevis Island, close to Bequia in the eastern Caribbean, as the plane was en route to St. Lucia, as reported by St. Vincent and the Grenadines police.

Oliver’s daughters Madita Klepser (10) and Annik Klepser (12) were killed in the crash. Pilot Robert Sachs, responsible for the flight, also lost his life. Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the crash.

Fishermen and divers in the vicinity promptly responded to the crash site, providing assistance before the St. Vincent and Grenadines Coast Guard arrived.  “The selfless and brave acts of the fishermen and divers are very much appreciated,” AP quoted the police as saying.

Christian Oliver (aka Christian Klepser) was born in Germany and had performed in films such as Speed Racer (2008) and The Good German (2006). He contributed as a voice actor in the final installment of the Indiana Jones film series and appeared in the 1990s series – Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

The actor’s final Instagram post, a serene beach photo shared on New Year’s Day, carried a message of hope for 2024: “Let love rule. Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To community and love… 2024 here we come!”
